Whitely, UK – DTC, Domo Tactical Communications, has developed a number of small transmitter solutions, in response to the increasing TV audience demand for ‘point of view’ live camera feeds and from the Surveillance market.
Focussing on reducing size, weight and power, and the increased requirement within the surveillance market for body-worn and small UAV applications, the DTC Nano Amplifier meets this need. Having identified a gap in the market, Neil McSparron, Engineering Director at DTC, challenged his team of RF engineers to reduce the size and power consumption of the 1 Watt class A linear amplifier, which is the mainstay of Broadcast and Surveillance systems around the world.
No bigger than a match box, using 70% less power, 80% lighter and 90% smaller than products typically available, the Nano Amplifier has allowed TV audiences to get close to the action at numerous sporting events and wildlife documentaries. As well as this, it also allows surveillance deployments in challenging environments to become easier, embracing the rise in demand for Law Enforcement to be able to use UAV and body-worn applications.
With a focus on continual innovation, DTC will continue to extend the range of 1 and 2 watt amplifier solutions, for both broadcast and mesh applications, with the next products due for release later in 2015.
