Whitely, UK – Domo Tactical Communications, the RF specialist, has announced the completion of the transition of its renowned range of Solo video products to HD with the launch of the new SOLO7 HD Receiver (SOL7HDRX).
In line with DTC’s drive for all new devices to incorporate multi capability, this new HD receiver adds a host of useful new features to support surveillance operations. These include, on-board video and audio recording, IP streaming and control, internal downconverters for covert installation, external down converters for the mast mounting of antennas, WIFI for remote programming and replaying video on smart phones and tablets and its integration into DTC’s Mission Commander network management software.
With the new SOL7HDRX, law enforcement, security and broadcast professionals now have access to a new receiver with additional functionality.
Andrew Tilbury, Video Product Manager at DTC, said “the days of customers accepting single functionality on one device have gone and the SOL7HDRX reflects the need of our customers to integrate our products into a larger secure surveillance infrastructure and use multi bearers to access and stream video. Customers still rely on DTC COFDM systems to deliver the highest evidential quality video, however systems also have to be able to share these around tactical networks, albeit at lesser quality, when the bandwidth of other bearers such as 3G is all that is available”.
With the adoption of HD in surveillance systems becoming more widespread, DTC is mindful of the large investment that customers have already made and have therefore ensured backward compatibility with existing systems and networks. With the lack of available spectrum and bandwidth restricting the wider adoption of HD, DTC proprietary narrow band modulations support the delivery of the higher quality HD product more efficiently than similar systems on the market that rely on Digital Video Broadcasting – Terrestrial (DVB-T) only.
